my favorite pattern: meredith from olivia jane handcrafted

Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Meredith to our readers. She’s here to talk about her favorite Oliver + S pattern—a timeless boy’s shirt—and to showcase the amazing variations she’s created. Recently, Meredith discovered she’s a contestant in the Super Online Sewing Match II, currently underway over at Sew, Mama, Sew. Thank you so much, Meredith, for taking time out of your busy schedule to join us! --- Hi everyone! I’m Meredith, and I run the blog Olivia Jane Handcrafted. You’ll also find me spending way too much time on Instagram. I started my sewing journey with quilting and baby clothes after my daughter was born, but soon enough, I found myself diving into garment making. Once you sew one Oliver + S pattern, it’s hard not to get hooked—and that’s exactly what happened to me. Most of my daughter's wardrobe consists of Oliver + S creations, but today, I want to share my absolute favorite pattern: the Sketchbook Shirt, which is technically designed for boys! --- The first time I worked with the Sketchbook Shirt pattern was just under a year ago. My son grew incredibly fast—he was wearing 9-month clothes by the time he was three months old. I needed to make him some larger outfits! When I bought the Sketchbook Shirt pattern, I was delighted to find it only required half a meter of fabric. Within a few days, I had crafted three brand-new shirts for him. --- When I think about men’s or boys' clothing, I picture an oxford-style shirt as the ultimate essential in any guy’s wardrobe. With enough variety in prints and colors, one could wear this style almost exclusively without ever repeating an outfit. It’s incredibly versatile—it can be dressed up or down—and always looks crisp and clean. --- In my son Wallace’s first year of life, I’ve already made him six Sketchbook Shirts. These shirts give his wardrobe such great diversity. Plus, this pattern accommodates a wide range of fabrics. Since we live in hot, humid Southwest Florida, I mostly use lightweight materials like lawn or chambray. However, if you're in a colder climate, flannel would work beautifully too. The options are endless! --- What I adore most about this pattern—and honestly, all Oliver + S patterns—is how approachable they are. I’d never sewn a man’s shirt before, but following Liesl’s clear instructions made it feel achievable. Creating a shirt seemed daunting, something reserved for those with exceptional skill, but Liesl’s guidance helped me conquer it piece by piece. The results were stunning, professional-looking garments. --- I’ve made five so far, but trust me—there will be many more Sketchbook Shirts in my future. This is one of those patterns I make in batches because one shirt just isn’t enough to satisfy the itch! --- If you'd like to revisit the origins of this pattern, check out Liesl’s original post introducing the Sketchbook Shirt back in 2010! --- Would you like to take a little stroll down sewing-memory-lane? We’re excited to see what you create next!

Quartz Wrist Watches

There are a variety of men's Quartz Watches here, with a variety of styles, you can refer to and customize your own desired style. As we all know, the power of a quartz watch is mainly to use the quartz crystal to vibrate under the drive of electricity. Simply put, it requires batteries. Quartz watches are accurate, easy to wear and use, and reasonably priced.

The quartz watch was released by Japan's Seiko in 1969. This initiative brought changes to human life and improved people's concept of time. The price was lower than that of traditional Mechanical Watches at the time, and it was quickly popularized due to its thinness and lightness.
