Men's Wear Week in London | Private Policy: Chinese Diversity

The United States is a melting pot of culture, and the Chinese living here are affected by various cultures daily. Young Chinese who grew up in such an environment are challenged daily by self-expression. They are often tagged by society, but at the same time they are trying to show the truest self. This is also the outline of the designers behind the Private Policy: Haoran Li and Siying Qu in New York.

With the support of GQ China Presents, a young designer support project of Zhiqi GQ, Private Policy moved to London Menswear this quarter and brought New York’s liveliest spirit to London. Each model chosen by the designer is full of personality. The show music is also a monologue of many overseas Chinese, telling about their own growth experience and determination to live out of themselves.

Plaids, sequins, and BDSM elements commonly used in the brand mix with the style of punks and locomotives, all of which are people's impressions that are not related to Asians. The Chinese symbols on the model's hand - the lion heads used for teapots and lion dances - play an interesting role in chemistry with the design of the new season, as if they have become fashionable accessories. Chen Zhihui, fashion director of Zhiqi GQ, believes that “Private Policy has its own unique wildness. It integrates ingenious elements of Chinese elements in Western elements, but it does not feel any disharmony. On the other hand, there are more attitudes.” On the product side, in addition to the motorcycle jacket, the Private Policy's loose silk shirt is also very bright. And designer Harriet's own Harness (back strap) is the best accessory for weekend nightlife.
