* Density, strength
Polypropylene's texture is particularly light, with a density of only 0.91g/cm3, lighter than water, and only 60% of cotton. It is currently the lightest of all synthetic fibers. The strength of the fibers is high, short fibers are 35.2-52.8 cN/tex, and filaments are 44-70.4 cN/tex, which is close to nylon and polyester, especially after soaking, its strength does not decrease.
* Hygroscopicity
Polypropylene's hygroscopicity is very small, almost no moisture, so the shrinkage rate is very small. The resident facilities make sterile gauze, which has the advantage of not sticking to wounds.
* Chemical stability
It has good chemical resistance and is stable to concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda at room temperature.
*Other performance
The heat resistance and light resistance of polypropylene are poor. After 6 months of sunlight exposure, the strength is reduced by 50%. The polypropylene's dyeing properties are poor. It is not easy for dyes to dye, and it is currently limited to dyeing in light and medium colors. Its color fastness is also poor.
Polypropylene Applications High-strength (72.5-76.0 cN/tex) polypropylene multifilament and reel are the ideal materials for the manufacture of ropes, fishing nets, and cables; low-strength (18-25 cN/tex) polypropylene is easily cut, making it ideal for cigarette filters Alternative materials: Ordinary polypropylene fiber as a good warmth, good moisture conductivity (recovery rate <0.03%), wearing underwear without cold feeling, its disadvantage is poor dyeability, feel rough, waxy feeling. However, fine denier (fineness less than 1.9dtex) feels soft and has no waxy feel. Polypropylene can be blended with a variety of fibers to make different types of confusing non-woven fabrics. After knit processing, shirts, outerwear, sportswear, and socks can be made. The quilt made of polypropylene hollow fiber is light, warm, and elastic. In addition, polypropylene can also be used to make carpets, decorative fabrics, furniture fabrics, strips, linoleum, building reinforcements, packaging materials, and industrial filter cloths, bag cloths, etc.

The characteristics of polypropylene blended fabrics The polypropylene blended fabrics have good fastness and good abrasion resistance, small shrinkage, easy to wash and dry, good dimensional stability, and relatively stiff. However, the heat resistance is poor, and it is not suitable for comfort. If it is to comfort, the temperature should not exceed 100°C. Soaking with boiling water is not acceptable. Cold water or low temperature water should be used for washing. It has poor light resistance and cannot be exposed to the sun. There is a feeling of sultry when wearing, poor dyeing performance.
